Claire and I have been enjoying our Suzuki piano lessons every week.
As is the Suzuki way, Claire sits at piano with her teacher, and I take notes, pictures, videos. . .
whatever it takes so that I can be her teacher through the week at home. And since I'm not very musical, I have had to be every bit the music student as Claire.
We or she is preparing for her first Suzuki recital on December 9th. She is really just a beginer, but her teacher let her pick a song from further back in the book. It has been a challenge and we hope to have it mastered by recital time. If not, we have a back up!
She is playing French Children's Song. It is very nice! Her first try at something two handed.
She is working very, very hard each and every day. As is mom.
It is sweet to see her sit and play at random times just passing by the piano.
That tells me how much she truly enjoys playing!
I know it is excellent for that active little brain of hers, too!
And it flows out of her amazing creativity.
In just a few months, I can see the sense of accomplishment it provides her.
Hard work translated into joyful music.
We'll be shopping soon for a beautiful recital dress. That is quite motivating for a 7 year old girl!
We are really looking forward to her first recital!
