Cypress Christian School

It was a lovely ceremony

I pledge myself always to seek the light of Truth

as found in God's Word.

To hold scholarly habits,

to engage in worjthy service to His kingdom

And to lead forward in all things

that shall advance the welfare 

of the school and

my Christian life

A Technicolor Promise

Charlotte's 6th grade musical theatre class presented

A Technicolor Promise

It was precious!

In a short nine weeks, this class learned all the music, the choreography and the staging.

It was a fun filled, humorous rendition 

with a special message of God's covenant love and promises

two by two they entered the ark 

and waited out the storm

Grace and judgement, promise and blessing...

a fun production with a special message of hope

What a blessing to see God use these children to sing and tell of

His great goodness.

Warrior Spirit

Charlotte and her friends are part of the brand new

middle school Pom Squad

They sit in a block in the stands and cheer on their friends 

on the fields and courts

Today was their first opportunity to show their spirit

at the middle school football game

I have to admit, they are pretty cute.

My precious Warrior Girl.

She does have a lot of joy to share!

See You At The Pole

Meredith led the charge Wednesday morning

and had the rest of the kids up

bright and early.

It was See You At The Pole Day.....

and she wanted to be there

to join her classmates and schoolmates in praying

for their school

for their city

for their country

All four of them drove off a bit before the sun was fully up

and joined in on this annual National event

with worship and prayer

circled around our flags at Cypress Christian School

The 2012 See You at the Pole theme was

Awaken

and the Scripture is Ephesians 3:14–21—

“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father… I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts…And I pray that you… grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and…that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…’”

Student organized.

Student led.

All to glorify God and seek his mercy and blessing.

We are Warriors.  Warriors in prayer!

My Middle Schooler

Sweet Charlotte missed the First Day of School post

making lemon poppyseed muffins for all her siblings and then

trying to gather up her sports bag necessities at the last minute.....

so here she is on the second day of school

Always smiling

Always helping

Always busy doing something

Today she has the first of a two day tryout for

Middle School Volleyball

There are a lot of girls, 6th through 8th going out for two teams

The A Team and the B Team.

Lots of them will not make a team, but Charlotte is prepared

to go out there and give it all shes got!

Monday and Tuesday of this week were spent in clinics learning the skills

(especially for the 6th graders who have never played VB before!)

Teams will be posted Friday!

Oh, and the boys football team took on the Women's Varsity Volleyball team last night.

Yep...they got wooped.  Great entertainment and great fun!

{and here I have to leave space for Charlotte's picture....she was running around in an unorganized fashion and not ready for photographs this morning.  Perhaps because she got up early and organized everyone's back to school breakfast....that's my Hunka Bunka!}

For the first time in fourteen years, somebody else is driving my kids to school.

Meredith!

Last night we picked up the "kids car" and she will be taking them to and from school

each day...mostly.

which kind of leaves me the rest of the day to figure out what my meaning in life is now.

Ahhhh....firsts.

Sometimes they are harder on moms!

David is still asleep so I'm going to go to the living room with my coffee & Bible

and enjoy some quiet time.  And pray for the first day of school!

To God be the glory!

Sailing Into Sixth

Today we celebrated Charlotte's graduation from 5th grade.

It was a beautiful luncheon marking the end of elementary school.

And the beginning of middle school.

Sigh.

We enjoyed a nostalgic slide show, inspiring addresses from administration and 

lunch was served in darling sand buckets

Students, parents, grandparents, special friends rejoicing together in God's faithfulness.

Each teacher spoke personally to each student

and gave them a biblical character trait that

they have seen God grow in each child.

Charlotte's was 

AVAILABILITY

making her own schedule and priorities secondary to the wishes of those she serves

(based on Philippians 2:20-21)

Then they were prayed over and commissioned for a new chapter!

You would never know Charlotte was not with these these girls since kindergarten.

She has been so welcomed and enfolded.

Loved and nurtured.

And these two godly teachers have poured into our girl

with excellence...and patience...and passion

They are amazing and we're so blessed that they touched Charlotte's life

as she passed through the fifth grade in her life's journey!

So now these precious friends look forward to a summer of fun

with anticipation of sailing into the sixth grade in just a few short months.

After the luncheon, the 6h grade teachers gave them a tour of the building

they will be moving to.  They are carefully and purposefully separated from

elementary and the rest of middle and high school.

6th grade is a nurturing year.  A preparation year.

And we're so excited to see what God has in store!!!

How blessed I was to join Claire at school

for a Mother's Day Tea today!

They served us tea and lemonade and delicious cookies . . .

and the table decor was precious, too!

They recited memory work for us,

presented us with a portfolio of writing - all about their moms,

and we watched a precious video.

Very sweet to be with Claire, her friends, and all the second grade moms!
