This was us this morning.
Coffee and camera in hand, out on the front curb,
documenting some last minute practice
parallel parking for Meredith's big Texas State driver's test.
She is feeling confident!
Great use of our moving boxes, don't you think!?
Ian is talking to his boss in Singapore AND offering advice on the angle of approach.
Good grief.
After a little practice, we were off the the DPS.
The dreaded DPS.
Our goal was twofold:
ONE -Meredith was fixin' to pass her driver's examination to procure her license.
TWO - I was attempting another time to procure a Texas license to replace my Arizona license.
{Last time I waited three and a half hours (two of it outdoors in a line)
to have one of my forms of residence rejected}
I am happy to report we had VICTORY on both objectives.
Meredith is a licensed driver and I have a TX license finally.
(it was a five hour field trip the first forty five minutes of which was standing in a line
outside the building huddled under an umbrella
in pouring down rain protecting all of our most valuable
forms of identification and necessary paperwork.)
But we conquered the weather.
Meredith parallel parked like a champ. A minivan at that!!!
And we're back home again safe and sound.
I'm a little displeased with my photo -- looks like I waited four hours and stood in the rain....
but we are done with the DPS for now!!!
WOOOO HOOOOOOO!
