Ballerina Girl

Meredith's friend Sabrina took these lovely photographs of Meredith for an art class assignment.  Sabrina is a freshman at Cypress Christian and they are dear friends at school and ballet!  It's a blessing to Meredith to have a friend like Sabrina at ballet....since she spends so much of her time there.

Meredith was cast as the Spring Fairy.  She was thrilled to get a solo part.  I've seen her in rehearsals and the choreography suits her very well.  Artistic Director Vicky sets pieces so beautifully for her dancers.  It is an artistic process that is fascinating to watch unfold in the studio.

Meredith recently received the good news that she was accepted into the Summer Intensive at the Washington School of Ballet, though she will most likely decline.  The audiiton was a two hour ballet class with Vladimir who was one of her favorite teachers at WSB last summer.  That was such a great experience!  This summer, however, she is feeling like there is much to do to prepare her high school resume and she'd like to get working on her college applications, take the SAT a few more times and do some shadowing with some medical professionals.  She is diligent about preparing for the next chapter!

In the meanwhile, she is sure enjoying her work with HRB.  She is really challenged in her classes and  getting great satisfaction being a part of a company.  By God's grace she balances all that with her academics.  Next year will be her final year of ballet - her finale of sorts.  It sure brings us great joy to see her enjoy ballet so much and to receive such excellent training in this classical performing art.

We are praying God will direct her paths and that her calling will be clear.  If not now, as she gains experience and takes some classes along the way.  How truly exciting the journey is.  Especially when we can trust in God to prepare the way and equip her for fulfilling exactly what He calls her to do!
