Stratford and Warwick

A quick update with some pictures. The photos are backward....we did Warwick Castle today and Stratford upon Avon yesterday. Both were great days. Warwick Castle was built in 1062 - We've all been to a Renaissance Festival, but this is the real thing! It was very beautiful and the surrounding landscape equally so!

We climbed all the towers.....yes, our legs are sore this evening!

It is difficult to see, but in this photo is an American bald eagle....part of a birds of prey show.

These are the photos from Stratford upon Avon...a charming city on the river Avon rich in history and home to Shakespeare. We toured his birth home and had a walking tour of the city seeing other points of interest and Trinity Church where he was baptized and buried. The city center along the river is just beautiful with swans and gardens....the peonies, allium and lupine are blooming.....oh how I adore english gardens!!! And the trees are blooming too...

We had a yummy lunch

The chancel of Trinity church where Shakespeare is buried.

This evening we had a long 5 hour drive to the North West of England - the Lake District. The scenery was beautiful...rolling green hills, pastures of sheep and old farm houses. We had our first little rain as we drove...very lovely!

I am missing the littles very much, but enjoying this special time with Meredith a great deal. We are all learning so much and taking in the most amazing sites. Tomorrow we see Dove Cottage and more!
