Butterflies and Easter

My classroom has been buzzing with excitement. A few weeks back we watched small caterpillars munch and munch until they were good and fat. Next we admired the beautiful dance of chrysalis making. Then a long nap. Friday a few of our painted ladies appeared, first with wet crippled wings and then fluttering about our netted pavilion looking for food. We brought them home for the long weekend and they will return to my class next week for a few more days of observation before their release on our playground.

They are beautiful!

What a miracle!
