Nutcracker 2012

The Houston Repertoire Ballet presented
The Nutcracker
this past weekend.

It was Meredith's last Nutcracker-

The production was amazing
the memories made were quite special
and we're thankful Meredith got to be a part of it all!

Here is the company:

Meredith danced Snow Queen for the matinee shows.
She worked so hard for so many months.

And she simply took my breath away with her performance.
truly!

{professional pictures should be posted soon....can't wait to share!}

Here she is with the Snow King
danced by guest artist Daniel Wagner
from the Houston Ballet Academy and HB II

and backstage with Clara and the Dew Drop Fairy!

Meredith has some special friends like McKenzie....also a senior

Meredith had many friends and family come to support her.
Brother Peter came...and honestly - he admitted to truly enjoying the ballet
after only enduring it all these years.
He has really come to appreciate it and genuinely supported his sister
this time around
{maybe its because he went to the partner class and found out how hard it really is!}

Nannie came all the way from Minnesota!

Here's our ballerina as lead Marliton (act II)

Ian joined the fun this year filling in as a father in the Act I party scene.
Here he is in his tails with McKenzie and her dad.
What dedicated dads to join their daughter's company for a major production!

Claire picked out this Nutcracker for our collection in honor of Meredith's
performance as Snow Queen

Friends from school enjoyed the show, too. . .

And the dancers inspired lots of little ballerinas...so sweet!

Meredith's friend Travis brought beautiful roses....

and she was blessed to have friends from church come, too...

Another fun connection.....the Cavalier, guest artist Eric White from the Houston Ballet
recognized Meredith back stage.  He danced on and off at the Scottsdale School of Ballet until
he left and tried to make it professionally.
When we found out we were moving to Houston, his parents talked to us about the possibility
of him living with us and renting a bedroom while he attended the academy and tried to make it into the company.  They preferred him living with a family than in the dancers apartments.
(we ended up living too far away)
WOW......he fulfilled his dream and graced the stage with Sugar Plum Fairy
on the stage with Meredith's company. . .how fun is that!?

He is pictures here with Bridget Huhns of the Houston Ballet and our
artistic director, Vickie Vittum

God was faithful to keep Meredith healthy and strong through the weekend.

We're still humming the music.....and cherishing all the great memories!
